It is always very important if you are looking to build a house for your dog to consider a few things first. Having a plan is best, this way you make sure you have the correct materials to hand before you start. This also makes sure that the materials you buy are the most appropriate – for example the timber is hard wearing and long lasting. Depending on where you are going to place the dog house you may want to look at also having a deck or porch, so that your dog has somewhere to lay.
Be very aware when using nails or screws when constructing the house that they are nailed or screwed in tightly and flat. A screw or nail protruding out can cause serious injury or infection to your dog and even yourself.
If you have a couple of dogs you may wish to make a bigger house and place in dividers so that your dogs have their own separate areas.
